Despite enjoying perfect weather circumstances at the Sebring International raceway this morning, Robert Doornbos could not make the mileage he hoped for during his second (split) testday for Minardi Team USA. source: robertdoornbos.com The same problems with the software of the brand new Panoz DP01 the team ran into yesterday, again raised its head today. Therefore the team and Doornbos were not able to fully complete their programme as scheduled for this morning. The 25-year old Dutchman ended the session in P11, out of the 17 drivers who attended this 3rd open test session. ROBERT DOORNBOS: "A pity the electronics and software of the car again caused some trouble this morning. The tracktime we lost by this, prevented us to spend more time and attention to our set-up work and going out to do a competitive run in the end unfortunately. On a positive note: the relation with the team and my engineer was very good both days, and that made up for it a bit. "The most important thing at this moment is however, is that we've got a good understanding on how the car reacts and how we should work on from this point forward now. This afternoon I will catch my flight back to Europe, where I'll announce more of my plans for 2007 in Barcelona this Friday."
