Brazilian driver Mario Haberfeld (Walker Racing) completed this Tuesday two
days of testing at Homestead, Florida. This was the first time he was behind the
wheel of a Champ Car since the Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 18th. "This was
my second test with Walker Racing since joining the team, so it was a great
opportunity to get more acquainted with the engineers, with whom I am really
enjoying working with," said Haberfeld.
Walker Racing was the only team testing at Homestead this week, allowing the
team to work on a variety of set-ups. "My mechanics are working very hard to
make sure we can find the right set-up and get maximum speed out of my Reynard,"
said Haberfeld. "Also, the tires we used in this test are the same we will be
using in Monterrey in a couple of weeks, so I feel prepared heading to Mexico."
Haberfeld, who finished ninth at Long Beach, also felt the car is much better
after Homestead. "Since I signed with Walker Racing only one week before the
season-opener in Long Beach, we were unable to have much preparation for the
season," commented the Brazilian, "but after this test I am confident of a good
showing for Walker and myself in Monterrey", concluded Haberfeld.
