Second-year Busch Series driver Michel Jourdain Jr. has raced stock cars, semi-truck prototypes and touring cars and made a name for himself in open-wheel racing source: SunTimes.com But the 29-year-old Mexico City native is no match for horses. Jourdain injured his left leg Tuesday while attempting to pose for a picture on horseback for the Mexican sports tabloid Record. Other Mexican drivers also climbed into saddles for the photo, part of the run-up to Sunday's Busch Series Telcel-Motorola 200 at Mexico City's Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course. ''This newspaper, they had the brilliant idea of taking us to the horse track for a picture,'' Jourdain said Thursday, adding that he didn't like the photo shoot, but didn't ''want to be the only one complaining.'' He said the saddle was not securely fastened. ''It hurt the horse or something and he started going crazy,'' Jourdain said. ''I was on, but it was 2 seconds.'' The horse reared, pinning Jourdain's left leg against a metal fence ringing the track. He said there was some bruising and that the muscles and tendons were sore, but did not go into details. Andy O'Hara, director of sponsor relations at Jourdain's ppc Racing, said, ''Michel is fine from the incident and will drive.''
