The drivers of the IZOD IndyCar series will be back in action this weekend in the streets of Long Beach for what is still one the most prestigious events in motor racing.
Long Beach has long been the host of Formula One and CART/ChampCar events in the past. This weekend's event will be only the second time for the IRL in the streets of Long Beach since the reunification of the two series in 2008. In 2009, Dario Franchitti (Ganassi) who had just returned from driving in NASCAR won the race. But you can bet that the Team Penske trio will be out there to maintain the team's winning streak since the start of the 2010 season. Of course, Australian Will Power will surely be the one to watch but other drivers could also put on a great show there. One of those in contention could be Alex Tagliani (FAZZT Racing), who has been quite successful in Long Beach over the past years, with a second place in qualifying in 2008 and a third place finish in 2006 while driving in the ChampCar series. " Up to now, we have almost reached all of our objectives, " stateed Tagliani. "We had to be constant, earned as much points as we could and, most importantly, finish all the races as much as possible." " Long Beach is a demanding circuit but it is one that our technical crew knows well. We hope to achieve the best result of the season so far, " Tagliani added.
