As Auto123.com revealed a few weeks ago, Dutch driver Robert Doornbos has finally been confirmed at Newman-Haas-Lanigan Racing to drive alongside Graham Rahal in the 2009 IndyCar championship.
The Dutchman raced in Formula 1 in 2005 and 2006, before moving to the Champ Car World Series the following year where he was immediately a front-runner, winning twice. Recently he raced in A1GP and the Superleague Formula. Doornbos has no experience with oval driving and he will be able to get a taste of it in next week's Homestead official test.
