The Champ Car World Series will have a new team in 2005 after the Jensen
MotorSport team announced it is to compete in the entire 14 race season.
Originally it was believed that the Canadian team would take part in a limited
programme this season starting at the Molson Indy Toronto in July, but backing
from a number of companies, including Konica Minolta will now see the team take
part in the entire season.
The team aims to announce its driver later this month before testing its Lola
chassis at the start of April ahead of the season opener at Long Beach.
"There are quite a few terrific driver prospects available to us," team owner
Eric Jensen said. "Our original plan was to participate in only four or five
races in 2005, starting at the Molson Indy Toronto in July. However, we have had
a terrific spring and some new corporate partners are providing us with the
resources we need to run the whole season."
Jensen intends to bring in a number of new crew members with experience in
Formula One and Champ Car to join the existing crew from the teams entry in the
Toyota Atlantic championship.
