source: cart.com Bruno Junqueira set the fastest time in the dying moments of the first qualifying session at Toronto, as the skies threatened rain. It secures him a front row starting position for Sunday's Molson Indy Toronto, and that vital extra championship point. Junqueira gambled on the threatened rain not arriving, and practically had the track to himself as he made his final run, taking almost four tenths of a second off of Tracy's previous fastest time, to record a lap of 59.486 (106.210mph). Whatever happens tomorrow, Junqueira will start from the front row. Series leader Tracy is second fastest on the provisional grid, the only other driver to go below the one minute barrier. The local hero -- the "Thrill from West Hill" -- led most of the session, despite losing his fastest time after bringing out the red flags following a spin at Turn 9. Even so, on his second run he turned a lap of 59.803 (105.647mph), but just missed out on the championship point. Michel Jourdain was third fastest with 1:00.002 (105.296mph), just seven thousandths of a second faster than Oriol Servia on 1:00.009 (105.284mph).
