It was only one year ago to the day, that Tonis Kasemets took his first laps in an 800 Horse Powered Lola Champ Car at Sebring International Raceway source: paddocktalk.com The date: December 14th, 2004; in one of Dale Coyne's Lola Cosworth's. This Wednesday December 14th, Kasemets' fires up another Lola Cosworth on the Sebring short course once again, this time in one of the Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Lola's. Tonis sends his "thanks" to Eric Bachelart "who made this possible." "We are looking forward to having Tonis test with us," said Mi-Jack Conquest Racing co-owner Eric Bachelart. "He showed in Atlantics this season that he is a winner, and he should be up to speed quickly in a Champ Car. Tonis has shown great maturity and determination in his career, and it is good to have so many Atlantic drivers getting to experience a Champ Car." Tonis isn't looking for just any ride in Champ Car, he wants to be with a top team. Even with a couple of unexpected disappointments during the 2005 Atlantic Season, he still managed to finish 2nd in the Championship. "I'm confident, I belong in Champ Car. All I need is that one chance to prove to those who've always believed in me... that I CAN finish up front. The fans support has become... totally amazing and unexpected. Without those who attended every event early, to catch my Atlantic races, I'd probably given up on my dreams by now... but those Champ Car fans have literally kept me going on some days. When I see them shed a tear over a mishap I've had, that touches me deeply. I must stay in this for them. This is not just my 'dream' any longer. It's bigger than that now."
