Katherine Legge will return to Europe in search of suitable conditions for her next test, heading to the Italian coast for a first run in a P1 powerboat source: crash.net The 25-year old Briton, who recorded the highest finish by a woman in Champ Car history earlier this month, was last in Italy to take part in the Minardi F1 team's final outing, at Vallelunga, and not long after got her first taste of powerboat action, as she took part in a demonstration run while in Dubai for an A1 Grand Prix round. Next week's test, however, will provide a new challenge for Legge, who first revealed the P1 run in her exclusive Crash.net column. The PKV Racing driver is expected to join team-mate and Champ Car mentor Jimmy Vasser to test her skills in P1's top two boats, Wettpunkt and Sony, at Lido di Ostia, near Rome, on 26-27 April. Legge proved a point to her male counterparts in the Champ Car season opener at Long Beach, and insists that she would have been sixth, rather than eighth, but for a spin that cost her vital time mid-race. Testing and racing in America has left her short of wet-weather practice, but she still hopes to show the maestros of P1 that she has the natural instincts to produce competitive speeds on water.
