Mi-Jack Conquest Racing drivers Nelson Philippe and Andrew Ranger are both hungry to score points this weekend as the team takes to the streets once again for the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver for round nine of the 2005 Champ Car World Series

The race didn't go as the team had been hoping, though, as the bumpy race track knocked an oil fitting loose after Philippe had moved into the top five and ended his day early. "Nelson had a really strong weekend at San Jose, and is working really well with the team right now, so hopefully he can keep up this momentum and get a good finish here in Denver," said team co-owner Eric Bachelart. The Denver race marks one year since Philippe joined the Mi-Jack Conquest Racing team, and the young Frenchmen feels as though he has never felt better working with the Indianapolis-based team. "Denver is one of my favorite places to race because the layout is very technical and the event itself is really fun," said Philippe. "I have great memories from there as it was my first race with Mi-Jack Conquest last year and we came away with a lot of speed even though we were racing with a Reynard chassis. This year we have a strong street race car and we keep having great weekend after great weekend and we are definitely on a high. The team and I really look forward to keeping the momentum up and getting that result we've all wanted. In San Jose we learned that we had what it took to be up there so our goal is to be in the top 5 again this weekend." The San Jose event was a race Ranger is looking to forget, as contact ended his day early and kept him from gaining points in the Rookie of the Year standings.
