Mi-Jack Conquest Racing drivers Nelson Philippe and Justin Wilson are looking
for a strong finish to the season in the final round of the Champ Car World
Series powered by Ford this weekend in Mexico City, Mexico. The Mi-Jack Conquest
Racing team has some positive momentum heading into the final round after the
rookie pairing both scored top-ten finishes on the high speed banking of the Las
Vegas Speedway, and followed that up with another double top-ten on the
temporary street circuit in Surfers Paradise, Australia in the penultimate round
of the 2004 championship.
The Mi-Jack Conquest Racing team raced on the 2.786-mile Autodromo Hermanos
Rodriguez circuit last season, and scored a front row start and top-six finish
last year with driver Tiago Monteiro, who ran with Team FDR which operated under
the Mi-Jack Conquest Racing umbrella during the 2003 season.
Wilson, who served notice to the Champ Car community by finishing sixth in his
debut race at Long Beach and backing that effort up by qualifying third and
finishing sixth in the series first visit to Mexico earlier this season, has
amassed seven top-eight finishes so far this season and is hungry to improve
upon his season best finish of fifth in Portland.
"Mexico City should be a good event for us," said Wilson. "We have been in good
form the last few races, although I don't think the results have fully showed
that, so hopefully we can get a good result in Mexico to close out the season.
It looks to be a very high-speed track, so as I driver I am looking forward to
getting familiar with the circuit and having a competitive weekend."
