The Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Team took to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit this afternoon to participate in the first round of qualifying for Sunday's Gran Premio Telmex Presentado por Banamex. source: conquestracing.com Andrew Ranger was the top qualifier for the Conquest Team. His lap time of 1:27.089 was good for ninth on the provisional grid. Ranger set his fastest lap time on his eighth of 11 laps with the Bridgestone Reds as did his teammate Charles Zwolsman, on his ninth of 11 laps. Zwolsman registered a lap time of 1:27.268 placing him 12th in the first round of qualifying. Both drivers will try to improve their positions tomorrow when the second round of qualifying gets underway at 3:20 p.m. eastern. 9th - Andrew Ranger #27 Wal-Mart / Tide Qualifying 1: 1:27.089 (114.669 mph) "After seeing how the car was in practice this morning I was confident going into qualifying because the car was really good. I did however think we would have been better than ninth, but the field is really close so hopefully it will not rain tomorrow and we will be able to move up the grid." 12th - Charles Zwolsman #34 Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Qualifying 1: 27.268 (114.434 mph) "It seemed that at the beginning of the stints the tires were pretty good so you had to be on it in the first couple of laps. We made some good improvements before going out for our last stint and there was a lot more in the car than 12th position but on my second fast lap there were a couple of cars in front of me so I had to back off a little bit, and I missed out on the best part of the tires. But overall I'm pretty confident we can come back tomorrow and qualify in the top-10."
