Duno gets a few lessons; Herb back for more action source: indycar.com / Dave Lewandowski Much like competing in the IndyCar Series, Milka Duno found she has more to learn when it comes to roping. The first-year IndyCar Series driver for SAMAX Motorsport donned a Charlie 1 Horse cowboy hat and stepped into a pair of cowboy boots before receiving roping lessons from former Miss Rodeo America Pam Minick at Billy Bob's Texas. After a few attempts, Duno lassoed the artificial steer stationed inside the arena. Following her lesson, Duno came face-to-face with "Big Jake," a Texas Longhorn Steer and even climbed up on top of the steer for some interaction. "This is the first time I've ever done anything like this and it was really fun," Duno said. "I like to do different things and this was really fun to get to learn how to rope and see a steer up close. The boots and cowboy hat they gave me were really nice and it was a very nice surprise. I definitely want to come back to Billy Bob's again soon." Duno, who has competed in two IndyCar Series races, will be making her Texas Motor Speedway debut this weekend in the Bombardier Learjet 550k. "Personally, I want to just have a good race," said Duno, driver of the No. 23 CITGO Honda-powered Dallara. "People say that this is a very good racetrack and that it is very fast. I will be able to tell more when practice starts. My goal is to learn the most I can this weekend." Just like she did with roping. Herb back for more action Jon Herb will make his second IndyCar Series race of the season this weekend in the No. 19 Aercon Dad's Root Beer Racing Professionals car. Herb, a Chicago native and graduate of Southern Methodist University, considers Texas Motor Speedway, along with Chicagoland Speedway, to be his "hometown" track. Herb has a top-10 finish in both the IndyCar Series (ninth in 2001) and Indy Pro Series (seventh in 2004 and '05) at Texas Motor Speedway. "The team is very excited about racing at Texas," Herb said. "It is a great facility and we have always raced well there. I have many friends and supporters in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and I hope they come out and enjoy the race."
