Another testing opportunity for Nicki source: Rocketsports Racing Fresh off testing in Portland with Rocketsports Racing, former Formula 1 test driver Nicky Pastorelli will head to the Milwaukee Mile rejoining the team in the #8 Rocketsports Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone Champ Car for a one-day run on the famed one-mile oval in West Allis, Wisconsin on Tuesday. Pastorelli was a test driver with Jordan in 2005, and also the first driver to be officially introduced in the "Young Driver Programme" initiated by Midland F1 to help promising junior drivers develop their talent in preparation for entry to Formula One. A true road racer, the 23-year-old will experience his first oval track during the "all rookie" test in Milwaukee. Other Champ Car teams that are running rookies in the 2006 Champ Car field will be joining Rocketsports at this test to taking advantage of the extra time before the actual race event, which will take place June 3-4. "I am curious to see what it is like driving on an oval," said Pastorelli about his upcoming test with the team at the Milwaukee Mile. "I have never raced on an oval in my career, so this will be a first for me. I have heard many different stories about running on ovals; some people say they have had a fantastic experience, while others have said it was horrible. I am really looking forward to finding out myself. I am happy that the rookies in Champ Car get this chance to have a day of testing in preparation for the event coming up in June because it will be interesting to see how they do as well." The team will have one more opportunity to test at the Milwaukee Mile in June. In the past, Champ Car has assigned a specific date prior to the Milwaukee event for all Champ Car teams to go testing. This year, Champ Car has designated the test day to be on Friday, June 2, before the actual race weekend activities commence. The Time Warner Cable Road Runner 225 will be a two-day event with the race returning to a Sunday date.
