Rocketsports test Pastorelli & Pizzonia source: f1.racing-live.com / E.A. / Rocketsports Pastorelli was last seen in F1 testing for Jordan Nicky Pastorelli came close to signing up as the third driver at MF1 Racing this year before a lack of funding scuppered his role within the team. Now Pastorelli is hoping to break into the Champ Car World Series with Rocketsports Racing. Rocketsports ran two cars last year but at the opening round of the Championship at Long Beach, fielding just a single Lola for former Jaguar and Williams racer Antonio Pizzonia. Last week both Pastorelli and Pizzonia shared testing duties at Portland International Raceway as the team prepared for Houston. Having already tested with Dale Coyne Racing ahead of the season, this was Pastorelli's third Champ Car test and he was able to complete 185 laps over two days of running. Sebastien Bourdais was perhaps unsurprisingly the fastest runner on track. "It was a positive test," said Pastorelli. "It was important especially for me to get some more miles under my belt in a Champ Car and to get to know the team by working with them." It was not completely smooth running for Pastorelli however as he suffered a drive shaft failure and admitted that the changing track conditions made the test tricky.
