Joe Gibbs Racing Dominates Last Sprint Cup Race
The last race of the Sprint Cup racing season served as the perfect occasion for Joe Gibbs Racing to show its dominance heading into the season-ending Chase, as four of the team’s cars finished in the top 10. The charge was led by Matt Kenseth, who led for 352 on the way to a one-two finish for Joe Gibbs. Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth ended up tied atop of the season standings used to determine qualification for the Chase.
Turvey Joining Piquet in Formula E for 2015-2016
Team China Racing confirmed today that British driver Oliver Turvey will be joining them full-time for next season’s Formula E circuit. The McLaren Formula 1 test driver will be teaming up with reigning Formula E champion Nelson Piquet Jr. for what many consider to be a powerhouse team during the sophomore season of the electric-car racing event. The 28-year-old Turvey won points for the team at both Battersea Park races in 2015.

Indonesia has declared a state of emergency as forest fires in Riau province in Sumatra have worsened in recent days, and the crisis has spread to neighboring Singapore and Malaysia. A race spokesperson stated that visibility, public health or operational issues could conceivably cause a postponement of the race, but that the situation is still under control.
