Grosjean Decision Made, Secret for Now
F1 driver Romain Grosjean has let drop that he has made a decision regarding his future, specifically for 2016, but is refusing to elaborate for the moment. The French driver raced for Lotus this season, earning the team its only podium finish of the year with a third-place result at the Belgian Grand Prix. At present Grosjean’s deal with Lotus runs through the 2016 season, but a possible takeover of the team by Renault would leave his contract status up in the air. Speculation has been circulating of a switch to Haas.
Button Nixes Haas Move
British F1 driver Jenson Button, meanwhile, has put to rest any talk of a possible move on his part to the new U.S.-based Haas team, declaring on Thursday that McLaren remains his only choice for a spot in Formula One. The 35-year-old veteran says retirement from F1 is the likely step for him if McLaren does not pick up the contract option they hold on him up for 2016.
