Hunter-Reay runs out of gas too early as Glock misses out on best finish of the season for Rocketsports Racing in Edmonton
source: Rocketsports Racing The inaugural Grand Prix of Edmonton was a day filled with highs and lows for all teams in the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford, as Rocketsports Racing realized at the end of the day that it was a learning experience after a good effort put forth. At the drop of the green flag, Ryan Hunter-Reay gained two positions in the first lap moving to the 12th spot. After 31 laps, the American radioed to his team saying that the car was getting loose every time he closed in on an upcoming car. With just one lap to go before making his second pit stop of the day, the Floridian slowed on the track as a result to running out of fuel, ending his day on Lap 51 in the 16th spot. Earning five championship points for his effort this afternoon, Hunter-Reay moves up a spot in the Championship points standings to 13th, as he continues to edge his way into the top ten. Timo Glock dropped back one position at the start, yielding to a hard charging eventual race winner Sebastien Bourdais. However, he regained his starting tenth position when Cristiano da Matta slowed on the track with problems. On Lap 11, the rookie began to close in on Mario Dominguez for the number eight spot, overtaking the Mexican on Lap 14. Lap 17 saw the German continue to demonstrate his former Formula One skills as he made another pass to obtain P7.
