'I know I'm getting a fair shot' source: f1.racing-live.com / E.A. / Champ Car While Bruno Junqueira was the fastest man on track yesterday at Sebring on his return to Champ Car action following his crash at Indianapolis in May, Ryan Briscoe had his first taste of Champ Car with PKV Racing. Briscoe, who tested last week for Toyota F1 and competed the bulk of the IRL IndyCar series with Ganassi Racing, is hoping that he gets the nod to drive in Champ Car in 2006. Interestingly, Briscoe was impressed with the power of the Champ Car Cosworth Turbo after driving the latest 2.4 litre Toyota V8 last week at Jerez. "It has been a busy week," said Briscoe. "A Champ Car and a Formula One car are very similar. A Champ Car has more horsepower and no driver aids so you have to set it up for the middle of the corner. Both cars are demanding and you don't want to try and muscle them around. It was a really good day and I know a few drivers are trying for a seat at PKV. I know I'm getting a fair shot and I think things are looking good." Briscoe was second fastest, four-tenths down on Junqueira and ahead of Ryan Dalziel who was also running for PKV Racing. Another Formula One refugee - Giorgio Pantano - is to test with PKV Racing today along with female Toyota Atlantic star Katherine Legge who will be in action for Rocketsports.
