At VIR last weekend, 83 Grand Sport (GS) and Sport Touring (ST) cars were entered in the Grand Am Cup race. Rounding out the diversified weekend of racing will be competition in the SCCA Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Hankook Tires and the Historic Stock Car Race Series, which will host 300 kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey and Salinas Saturday. In the debut of the series at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year, Scott Pruett of Auburn and Mexico City's Luis Diaz were victorious in the CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing Lexus Riley.
