Drivers and teams weren't the only ones receiving awards at Champ Car's Gala Awards Night as the inaugural winner of the "Face of Champ Car" was crowned during the evening festivities source: champcarworldseries.com Twenty-one year old Brandi Latimer from Caldeon, Ontario Canada edged out four other finalists to earn the opportunity to be the "Face of Champ Car." As part of her prize for winning, Latimer will receive a $10,000 appearance contract from Champ Car and fly to at least five Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford events and serve as an ambassador of the series during its three day festivals of speed. "I'm very excited to be the 'Face of Champ Car,' said Latimer. "First representing my home race as Miss Molson Indy Toronto and now being able to represent the entire Champ Car paddock is really a dream come true for me." Latimer is currently studying to become a nutritionist and loves to keep fit and maintain a high level of health. The youngest of five children, she has raised a considerable amount of money for charities through her modeling career. The "Face of Champ Car" competition launched onto the Champ Car circuit for the 2005 World Series to promote the excitement and glamour of high-octane racing action. Thousands of young ladies from around the world have competed in this glamorous International Grid Girl competition. At all six international races young ladies went through various judging categories including photographic, interview, swimwear and media judging to find the essential qualities necessary in becoming an ambassador for the Champ Car World Series. This season the finalists for the "Face of Champ Car" were Miss Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, Lindsey Bedell; Miss Cleveland Grand Prix, Sarah Blanton; Miss Edmonton Grand Prix, Kristen Finlay; Miss San Jose Grand Prix, Amanda Scott, Bartercard Miss Indy Australia, Jana Peterson and of course the Face of Champ Car, Miss Molson Indy Brandi Latimer.
