It's a new day source: indycar.com Word of the Andretti Green Racing drivers' pranks precedes them. Well, Danica Patrick, the newest member of the troupe, has a few wise words for her teammates. "They don't know what I'll do," said Patrick, who spent part of her first official day on the job meeting the crew and getting a seat fitted for the black No. 7 Motorola Dallara/Honda/Firestone. There's something about that new car smell. "Since the last race in Chicago, we've been in this purgatory situation where we've been waiting for Danica to come onboard," team co-owner Kevin Savoree said. "It's kind of like counting down to Christmas." Patrick's accomplishments the past two seasons with Rahal Letterman Racing - in which she won the 2005 Bombardier Rookie of the Year award, became the first female to lead the Indianapolis 500 and start from the pole three times - were accompanied by lofty expectations. AGR principals believe the association will be mutually beneficial -- Patrick can realize her goals while helping return juggernaut to the team's lexicon. "It means a lot to (team co-owner Michael Andretti), Kim (Green) and myself that Danica believed in what we talked about and the winning tradition of Andretti Green," Savoree said. "I think there were a lot of organizations that were interested in Danica so it means a lot to the three of us that she joined us. We're looking forward to the Danica Patrick era at Andretti Green." Patrick shares the sentiment. The first Open Test of the 2007 IndyCar Series season is Jan. 31-Feb. 1 on a modified road course at Daytona International Speedway, but Patrick will shake down the car at Homestead-Miami Speedway later this month. March 24 - under the lights at HMS - is the season opener. "I'm very excited," she said. "I spent many years with Rahal Letterman. We had a lot of successes, but I'm really looking for that win. That's really the next point. I wish that would have happened a long time ago.
