"The inaugural San José Grand Prix in 2005 demonstrated that a lot of people are interested in downtown street racing and the 3-day festival of speed," said San José Grand Prix President Dale Jantzen. In 2006, we showed that the site could handle big crowds effectively by building more bridges, increasing the number of track crossings and creating better general admission areas. We want to continue to improve the event for the average fan and one way is to make the grandstands more affordable." Jantzen went on to say, "We've planned a few additional changes to the site for 2007, which will provide us with the ability to add up to 20% more seats if necessary." The ticket renewal period runs from now to December 31, 2006, and remaining tickets will then go on sale to the general public on February 1, 2007. In addition, the Grand Prix officials also announced Special Auto Show incentives at the San Francisco International Auto Show, November 18-26 at Moscone Convention Center and the San José Auto Show, January 11-15, at the McEnery Convention Center. The Special Auto Show incentives allow new purchasers of reserved seats first choice of available seats after renewals are closed but before seats are available to the general public.
