He may have failed to land a Formula One seat on the 2005 grid but Dutch
driver Jos Verstappen is still not giving up on racing open wheelers this season
with his sights now firmly set on the American based ChampCar series instead.
While the ChampCar series starts after the F1 season does, most teams are
already out testing in preparation, but Jos is yet to climb into a cockpit of
the Ford powered chargers as he is yet to finalize a deal just yet.
However, while he would have preferred to get some testing mileage under his
belt by now, the Dutchman doesn't think it will be too much of a problem as he
won't need a lot of time to adapt, especially if he gets the go ahead by the end
of the month.
"I would have liked to have done some testing by now, but that hasn't happened
yet. At the end of February we are expecting to have some clarity," he said on
his personal website. "This still leaves us enough time, I don't need many miles
to adjust to a racing car."
