If you've got a job to do, there's almost certainly a Chevrolet Silverado that's well-suited and willing to help. If that job happens to be really, really big and takes place off the beaten path, the Silverado 3500 Crew Cab 4X4 will likely prove an ideal companion. A combination of enormous passenger accommodations, off-road-readiness and the power of an advanced Duramax engine mean owners will run out of work well before the truck runs out of breath.

The Silverado lineup is recognized for relative fuel efficiency, dependable work ethic and high resale values.

The Silverado lineup has long been recognized for relative fuel efficiency, dependable work ethic and high resale values. Building off of this success, GM's latest-generation truck platform enables a smoother ride, higher safety levels and more confident handling characteristics than ever before.

Looks have also been upgraded for the Silverado's latest generation, and the 3500 CrewCab packs the ultimate in tough-truck attitude. Its front-end is more energetic and expressive than the sleepy-looking Ford F250, while a massive grille and bright, chrome bumper call images of a huge transport-truck to mind.

The tall, louvered-looking hood suggests some potency beneath, and fog-lamps were installed for a touch more class as well. In all, this machine oozes confidence and athleticism- even though it's positively huge.

In addition to the tester's CrewCab body style, Silverado 3500 is offered in regular or extended cab sizes and with either standard or long box lengths. A 'dually' rear axle is available too.

After climbing into the cabin, five passengers will find more than adequate room, lots of storage, and a fantastic view of the road ahead. Features like a six-way adjustable power driver's seat, XM satellite radio, universal garage door opener and automatic climate control can be specified as well. The tester also featured an electronic 4x4 system that engages two wheel drive, four-low or four-high at the flick of a switch.

The fog-lamps were installed for a touch more class as well.
