You can always use more power!

Subaru only made minor changes to the 2008 Legacy 2.5GT. For those who like wagons, the GT model offers more power while keeping all the convenient features of a solid mid-size car. And, obviously, symmetrical all-wheel drive comes standard.

The Legacy Wagon has been visually updated for 2008.

Aesthetics
Subtle changes to the front grille, headlights and taillights are what a keen eye will notice when looking at the new Legacy. The GT boasts a chestnut wood-trimmed interior, especially seen on the door panels and dashboard. The instruments remain the same, but the information is more diversified. Using a paddle on the bottom left side of the steering wheel, the driver can scroll through various data and get the desired info. The steering column tilts and telescopes, which should help drivers of all body shapes find a better driving position. Although covered with leather, the wheel in itself was too big to my liking, perhaps because of the multiple radio and cruise control buttons in the middle of it.

Leather interior
Leather seating comes standard with the Legacy GT, as do the power-adjustable front seats. The latter's heating control was moved a bit too far on the centre console. Still, they warm up quickly while offering good lumbar and side support. Out back, the 60/40 split-folding bench will have no problem accommodating two adults and one kid, providing them with adequate legroom. Each passenger also gets a 3-point safety belt.

Cargo room increases from 949 to 1,851 litres when said rear bench is folded flat. I particularly liked the cargo hooks in the rear floor area. There's also a decently-sized and well-designed tray underneath the floor to hide precious items.

The interior boasts quality materials as well as good fit and finish.
