And like the Honda Fit, the Mazda2 has some unexpected competition in the form of the Mazda3. As this is being written, the 3 boasts lower interest rates than the 2, which means you can get a bigger, more powerful car for just $15 more a month. Tough decision.

In a nutshell, the Mazda2 is a decent, fun to drive and solid little car. It’s not the most powerful, fuel-efficient or spacious one in its class, but the 2 is better than the sum of its parts. Let’s hope it gets some of the SKYACTIV magic in the near future.

Looks fun to drive but needs to up the power and add more standard features to compete with the Fiesta and the Koreans.
