The Town & Country, along with the rest of the Chrysler Group minivans, were totally redesigned for the 2001 model year and the designers sure went to town in the goody department. The features list seems endless. Over and above all of the normal power options, my test vehicle included power adjustable pedals to help shorter drivers find a comfortable and safe seating position, without having the steering wheel in their face, keyless remote control for the door locks, security alarm system, dual power sliding doors and an initially industry exclusive power rear tailgate.

The Infinity sound system with cassette player, in-dash CD changer and wireless headphones, not only sounded crystal clear, but was also very easy to operate, unlike a few other systems that I've listened to lately. Front and side next-generation multi-stage airbags are also part of the standard package, plus antilock equipped 4-wheel disc brakes. An "electronic vehicle information centre" located on the overhead console displays everything from fuel consumption to distance to empty, outside temperature, compass and even a tire pressure monitor.
