Braking will be equally responsive due to 225/45WR-18 front and 245/45WR-18 rear rubber and 325 x 30.5 mm (12.8 x 1.2 in) front and 323 x 22.9 mm (12.7 x 0.9 in) rear vented disc brakes with ABS and EBD. There's no word yet if Nissan Canada will import the top-line Track model, complete with forged Rays wheels, larger brake rotors and gold anodized Brembo calipers.

Its vital statistics are as follows: a 2,649 mm (104.3 in) wheelbase, 1,534/1,544 mm (60.4/60.8 in) front/rear track, 4,308 mm (169.6 in) length, 1,816 mm (71.5 in) width, 1,318 mm (51.9 in) height, 135 mm (5.3 in) ground clearance, 75.7 L (20.0 gal) fuel tank, 4.8 L (5.1 qt) oil capacity and 8.7 L (9.2 qt) water capacity - if you want to get technical.

The cockpit looks stunning, with a motorcycle style gauge package that moves up and down with the tilt steering a la Infiniti G35. The steering wheel looks similar to the G35's as well, except for the original style embossed 'Z' emblem at its hub. A 6-disc, in-dash CD audio system integrates seamlessly into the centre console, just above the HVAC system and below a covered storage bin that optionally houses a GPS system. Canted to face the driver, three additional gauges sit at the center top position of the dash, just like the original 240Z. Again, like its exterior design, the 350Z's interior pays homage to previous Z models without following 'retro' trends.

Just like most 2-place sports cars cargo space is kept to a minimum, with 198 L (7.0 cu ft) under the rear hatch bisected by a suspension-mount brace - albeit much better looking than any brace I've previously seen. It too features the 'Z' logo, as does the cargo areas carpeting just below it.

The $44,900 base price is also better looking than any of its similar performing competition and much lower than the previous generation 300ZX, a factor that might cause you to ask when can you line up for a test drive. How about August? Dealers are preparing to receive a trickle of 350Z's halfway through the month. If current interest is any barometer to future sales, Nissan shouldn't have too many problems finding owners for at least 20,000 cars in North America, or about 10% that in Canada.
