Just below the gauges a lidded 178 mm (7.0 in) wide color LCD information screen displays Nissan's landscape configured GPS system, actuated by a delicate but nevertheless effective toggle-type controller. It's an easy system to use, but first-timers to GPS should probably spend some time with the manual. The lid itself was awkward to close, at least in my test car, but the option of deleting the electronics from view is a nice touch. Kudos to Nissan for not following the popular trend of integrating the audio and climate controls within the display system. Instead a 6-disc, dash-mounted CD changer and cassette player joins a 240-watt AM/FM tuner to produce sensational sound quality, thanks to a rack of Bose speakers just behind your ears. Below the stereo interface three large climate control dials look the part and are easy to operate, while incorporating all the necessary features to keep the temperature comfortable automatically.

That said there's not a lot of interior space to heat or air-condition. OK, the seats are large enough for all but the abnormally wide while leg and headroom is also ample - 1,430 L (50.5 cu ft) in total passenger room to be exact. But if you want to zip away on a romantic weekend for two you had better pack light as there's only 193 L (6.8 cu ft) of cargo space bisected by a sensational looking but luggage robbing suspension-mount brace, featuring the 'Z' logo in brushed aluminum no less.

That logo is just about everywhere. On the carpeting just below the brace, on the door sills, on the inside door vents (yes the ones that you can only see when the door is open), all over the outside of the car of course and last but not least the steering wheel hub. OK the steering wheel isn't the last place but I'll leave it there for lack of time.
