Inside, all the controls are simple to use and within reach. 3 big round dials for ventilation, temperature and fan speed. It couldn't get easier to use than this. The CD player has a good sound to it, even with only 4 speakers, and is well placed high up on the dash. A good old round knob controls the volume. There's more bass than sound systems installed in previous low-end Honda and Acura models. The dash and door panels, though, are all dressed in black and make the cockpit a little monotonous. The light grey dials with red needles are easy to read in the daytime, and glow a soft orange at night.

The seats are comfortable and sewed up in a good quality fabric, and there's a dead pedal for resting that bored left foot. The rear seats are acceptable for adults hitching a ride on small trips, but the sloping roofline limits headroom, which shouldn't surprise anyone, and bald foreheads will roast through the large rear glass. The, ahem, middle seat in the back, dubbed "the hump", should be reserved for small children or adults in need of punishment. Climbing into the rear is easy, as far as coupes go, but installing a kiddie seat and actually trying get there with a baby under an arm is somewhat of a physical challenge. Something that is worth mentioning is the completely flat floor back there.

Visibility all around is quite good, even while looking behind, once you get used to the optional decklid spoiler. Trunk space is pretty deep but not very high, and the low sill makes loading and unloading easy. The rear seat folds down in a 60/40 split to improve on cargo space, but the pass-through is rather narrow. Up front, there are 2 cupholders, pockets in both doors, and an ashtray is optional. The fuel-filler door is released from the inside, a nice touch in a time where more and more automakers try to save a few bucks by switching to a non-lockable door. A fuel-filler cap may only be worth about 5 bucks, but it's nice to know someone can't steal it easily.

Visually, the shape of the coupe is clean and racy. The absence of side protective mouldings lends a more streamlined look to the car. Of course, you'll have to carefully choose a parking spot at the mall to avoid dents and runaway shopping carts.
