The 6 wagon comes with some extremely pleasurable add-ons that can include a power, glass sunroof, 6-disc in-dash CD changer

and great sounding audio system nicely integrated into the center stack. Just below on the same stack is one of the best HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) interfaces I've yet to test. It works well and looks tremendous, backlit in subtle red. The three main controls are big enough for those with stubby fingers or for regular folks wearing gloves in winter, and are highlighted with opaque plastic rings around their perimeters that glow red as well. It's these types of over-the-top extras that transform this family hauler into a car that a person not only needs, but wants. Safety features include two dual-action inflation "smart" front airbags, seat-mounted side-impact airbags, as well as

optional side-curtain airbags, the latter that came standard in my fully loaded test car. Additionally 3-point belts are fixed to all five seating positions, with pretensioners, load limiters and height-adjustable shoulder belt anchors up front. The safety items are important, as dad may start having a little too much fun behind the wheel. Even the base model can get going at an enthusiastic pace due to the fact that in wagon spec the 3.0-liter DOHC, 24-valve V6 comes standard. It produces a healthy 220 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and 192 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm. Factor in that it weighs only 1,537 kilos (3,389 lbs), and it's easy to appreciate how the 6 wagon is fun to drive.
