had the Avant, I missed my exit for getting off to work, and lo and behold, about 10 feet after the exit, traffic ground to an inexorable standstill. But of course. Not only was I stuck in this frustrating morass of metal and asphalt, it was through lack of careful planning and an easily avoidable jam.
Before I would have otherwise started banging my head against the steering wheel and tearing my hair out, I found myself camped out in the rightmost lane, patiently waiting for the next exit, occasionally toying with the radio controls, looking for at least some semblance of decent music, but generally just going with the flow. hanging on the windowsill and enjoying my early break from work, but more than anything, I kind of dreaded the fact that I would have to leave my throne of contentment for the chair, monitor and cubicle walls that are my daily cell.
Of course, when I wasn't stuck in the unavoidable traffic jams that drift through Toronto from sections of highway to downtown thoroughfares and over-congested intersections, I was cruising T.O.'s network of high-speed roadways putting the test to the 2.0T's ability to fly with and around the 'lesser' vehicles occupying the roads. Oddly, the capable high-speed antics and stalwart stability at highways speeds were dampened somewhat by the car's elevated engine noise, an unnatural and unwelcome intrusion in so refined a car.
