Like in certain other recent Hyundai and Kia products, the sound system is a little disappointing. The buttons seem fragile, but at least we can listen to CDs and MP3 files.
At $17,645, including the automatic transmission, this Accent GS Premium isn't the deal of the century. The competition in the subcompact category includes the following models:
2007 Chevrolet Aveo5 LT, loaded with automatic: $18,850
2007 Honda Fit LX automatic: $18,380
2006 Kia Rio5 EX automatic: $17,295
2007 Pontiac Wave 5-door SE, loaded with automatic: $18,850
2006 Suzuki Swift+ S automatic: $16,945
2007 Toyota Yaris CE 3-door with automatic, C package and A/C: $17,325

The new Hyundai Accent Hatchback has the potential to rival the best subcompacts in its category. There are still a few details that lack the quality level of the Japanese brands, but the gap is quickly closing up between them. Tightening our belt and choosing a smaller car is, finally, no longer a concession.

Good looks
Improved material quality
Interesting price
What I don't like:
Fuel consumption a little too high
Cheap radio
No more 5-door version
