Chrysler LLC recently auctioned off the first 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 for a whopping $400,000. Proceeds were donated to notMYkid once the auctioning was completed at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction last week.

notMYkid is a group dedicated to helping kids deal with adolescent behavioral health issues. They also teach parents, teachers and communities to identify warning signs and symptoms of these behavioral issues- helping to enable quick and proper diagnosis.

"Dodge is ecstatic that the sale of the first production 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 to roll of the assembly line raised $400,000 for such a worthy cause," said Mike Accavitti, who heads up SRT Global Marketing at Chrysler. "The introduction of an all-new, modern Dodge Challenger has generated a lot of excitement, and the enthusiasm for the new car was evident on the auction block."

Dodge sold thousands of copies of the new Challenger the very first day it was put up for pre-sale orders, and production will be very limited. The 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 officially makes its worldwide debut on February 6th at the Chicago Auto Show.
