Like very other Hyundai, the Elantra boasts an impressive array of passive safety features, including front, side and side-curtain airbags (except for the base L and GL models).
Of course, such safety comes at a price, which leads us to the Achilles' heel of the 2008 Elantra. The MSRP is slightly higher than that of similarly-equipped rivals. In fact, you could even make a case for the Elantra Limited as an entry-level midsize sedan, since it retails for $1,200 more than the larger 2008 Sonata GL. Now that's something to seriously think about before signing your name on the dotted line.
