Hummer is expanding its model lineup with a new pickup based on the H3 SUV. The H3T features a 5-passenger crew cab and a 5-foot long (1.5-meter) bed.
Standard features obviously include four-wheel drive, off-road tires and skid plates, while front and rear locking differentials are available.
Engine choices reflect those of the H3: a 242-hp 3.7-liter 5-cylinder or a 300-hp 5.3-liter V8. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard with the base engine, while a 4-speed auto is optional; the V8 gets the latter as standard equipment. Towing capacity for the H3T Alpha is said to tow up to 5,900 lbs (2,676 kg).
The H3T will be available in several packages, and key competitors are the Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier and Dodge Dakota.
