Competitors
The much-improved yet lower-priced Z comes back with full force and is once again a serious contender in the sports coupe competition. Rivals can certainly fear its arrival on the market. I'm talking about the Audi TT 2.0 TFSI ($46,900), BMW 135i ($41,700) and 335i Coupe ($50,600), Infiniti G37 Coupe ($47,350) and Mazda RX-8 R3 ($40,780).
Wrap-up
There's a well-deserving heir to the Z's throne. Available in Touring and Sport models, the 2009 Nissan 370Z allows drivers to play fun, sporty games behind the wheel. Moreover, the addition of a 7-speed autobox on the options menu is a testament to the seriousness of Nissan's technical approach.
Now retailing for about $40,000 (nearly $10,000 less than the 350Z), the value-to-performance ratio of the Z is back among the segment's best. The design might not be revolutionary (far from it, actually), but attention to detail is definitely on par with the long lineage of Z cars.
