On the road
The 2009 Yaris is really quite an enjoyable little cart to putter about town in. It’s agile and easy to manoeuvre while treating its occupants to a surprisingly smooth, stable ride with handling qualities that add a touch of fun to an otherwise utilitarian event.
Visibility is better than expected due to a notably high seating position and large expanses of front glass. Road noise tends to find its way into the cabin at highway speed but that’s to be expected in this class.
Yaris wrap
The true joy in Yaris ownership comes from knowing that it’s one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the road.
Not only does that keep your wallet in your pants a little longer, it engenders a sense of smugness in knowing that the driver beside you in a big SUV spent about three-times the money to drive the same distance. And I won’t even get into the Yaris’s lighter footprint or the ability to operate it without having to buy carbon offsets to maintain a clear eco-conscience.
