The list goes on and on, and they will all be present at the Calgary International Auto & Truck Show March 10th through 14th at the Round-up Centre and Corral at Stampede Park. Each year the Auto Show provides a showcase of the latest models and innovations offered by the top automotive manufacturers in the world, and the 2009 show is certainly no exception.
This year’s show will provide a pulse-quickening display of 2010 and 2011 cars and trucks from 32 manufacturers, represented by 75 individual member dealers of the Calgary Motor Dealers Association and featuring vehicles meeting needs that range from budget-conscious through to the conspicuously affluent.
And if exotic, high performance vehicles are your passion, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and other world-renowned brands will have their finest livery on display, sure to capture the attention of the committed autophile.
In addition to the ‘regular’ production vehicles, there will be a number of “concept” cars at the show, demonstrating the forward-thinking challenges facing automotive designers, as well as a display of new technology aimed at greater fuel efficiencies and lessening environmental impacts. For example, General Motors will roll out its Silverado Hybrid truck; Mitsubishi will showcase its new Imiev Sportback electric car, and the Government of Canada will showcase a variety of hydrogen-powered vehicles.
The Auto and Truck Show opens at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 10th and is open to the public until 10:00 PM that day. On Thursday, March 11th and Friday, March 12th the doors are open from 12:00 Noon to 10:00 PM, and on Saturday, March 13th the show hours are 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The final day of the show – Sunday, March 14th – the show hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
