Pursuing GM's goal of making Chevrolet a Global brand, four new vehicles have been introduced at this year's Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris.
The Aveo subcompact, which was overdue for a redesign, boasts a sportier overall shape with a more aggressive front fascia. Several engines will be available globally, although the North-American version will likely only offer a 115-hp, 1.6-litre four and an available 6-speed automatic transmission. Diesel engines with start/stop technology will be available in Europe, offering 75 or 95 horsepower. The 2012 Aveo will be on sale next summer.

The Orlando is a 7-passenger multipurpose van that will be added to Chevrolet's model range in 2011. Using the Cruze sedan's underpinnings, the Orlando will be powered by a 150-horsepower, 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine. The three rows of seats are arranged theatre-style, while the second and third rows can be folded to create a flat load floor.

The Captiva, a compact-sized SUV that can seat 5 or 7 passengers, has been completely reworked for its appearance in Paris. As with the previous-gen model, it's powered by a choice of 4-cylinder gas and diesel engines as well as a 230-hp, 3.2-litre V6. the Captiva will continue to offer available all-wheel drive.
The Cruze sedan is about to hit North-American streets, but Chevrolet has just pulled the wraps off a five-door version of the Cruze. Destined for Europe, where 5-door sedans are still way more popular than in the United States, the Cruze 5-door show car will be on sale in mid-2011.
