The story of this Jaguar took an odd turn on the evening of February 12th, 1957, when a fire inside the Browns Lane plant (England) destroyed nine of the 25 units already completed or under construction. Production stopped at 16 units, most of which were sold to American drivers, including legendary actor Steve McQueen.
