One of the market’s cheekiest little cars has been updated and enhanced for 2010. The clever little smart fortwo has earned a following of fans with its quirky operation and minimalist approach to space and fuel usage. Now, smart is kitting it up with more options and value than ever before.

In light of recent changes to driving laws, the smart family will be available with a Bluetooth hands free phone interface as a standalone option for 2010. Other options include heated seat surfaces, and a variety of body-panel colours for a unique sense of style. Shoppers can also add an armrest to all models, and tire pressure monitoring is available, too.

Various upgraded options packages make the fortwo more appealing, too. For instance, a comfort package adds air conditioning, automatic temperature control and an armrest. A style packages dials things up with a clock, tachometer and fog lamps.

For 2010, the fortwo carries forward with a coupe or cabriolet body configuration and a standard one-litre, three-cylinder gas engine with 70 horsepower. It might not be huge on numbers-- but with mileage rated below 5L / 100km on the highway, that’s hardly the point.

Additionally, the fortwo’s rear-engine, rear-drive layout enables surprisingly stable handling-- and a five-speed automatic transmission with manual mode is standard. Ditto a set of power locks and windows.

Be sure to check out the accessory catalog to further customize your fortwo to your exact tastes. You’ll be joining a community of happy and loyal ‘smartie’ owners in the process.
