The PZEV also comes standard with cloth-covered heated front seats that will keep your butt warm during winter and won’t burn you like hot leather does during summer.

Pack it in
While not the largest in its class, the trunk of the Legacy offers a substantial amount of cargo room and, more importantly, a wide and deep opening that makes loading those big suitcases easier.

Customers who wish for extra capacity and versatility can no longer opt for the 5-door Legacy. The Outback will be Subaru’s only wagon from now on, a decision that seemingly hasn’t bothered fans so far…

After all, both the Outback and Legacy PZEV are competent tourers offering pleasant driving dynamics. The power steering is precise and not overly assisted like the 2011 Sonata’s, while the four-wheel disc brakes prove easy to modulate.

On the other hand, the suspension feels a bit too soft and induces body roll in corners. In order to boost sales in the U.S., the automaker indeed took some stiffness and agility out of the ride, making the Legacy more American than ever.

Of course, being a Subaru, it still relies on the brand’s legendary symmetrical all-wheel drive system, providing optimum grip and stability, not to mention confidence behind the wheel, in all road and weather conditions.

The highlight of the 2010 Subaru Legacy, actually, is an ability to integrate such proven technology to a family sedan that’s just as spacious as the Accord and greater on gas than the Camry. Move up to the PZEV model and you’ll enjoy one of the cleanest ways to travel on top of that!
