A clean-diesel wrap
Entry for the 2010 Jetta TDI Clean Diesel begins at $24,475 with the wonderful DSG 6-speed automatic transmission a $1,400 option.
Moving from the Trendline trim level up to the DSG-equipped $28,275 Comfortline package, the highly fuel-efficient Jetta TDI offers outstanding value for those seeking a spacious, comfortable German-inspired sedan that combines frugality with driving passion.
Comfortline trim includes 16-inch alloy wheels, VW’s Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), heated front seats and washer nozzles plus a leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob and parking brake lever. These elements are in addition to cruise control, side airbag and side curtain protection, trunk pass-thru and a variety of other niceties, all of which come as standard fare on the complete Jetta lineup.
I think it’s a “miss” on Volkswagen’s part to not include ESP as standard equipment with the Trendline trim level. This potential lifesaver should be standard across the Jetta range. Also, I find the absence of steering-wheel-mounted controls to be a shortcoming at the midrange Comfortline trim level.
Oh well, I guess we can’t have it all…or can we?
