Aston Martin released pictures and specifications of the new 2011 V8 Vantage S, available in coupe and roadster variants. Offering more driver-oriented features, the British sports car is largely inspired from the 2011 Vantage GT4, winner of multiple international races.
Under the hood, Aston Martin’s own 4.7-litre V8 has been engineered to deliver a maximum output of 430 horsepower at 7300 rpm and 361 lb-ft of torque at 5000 rpm. It's coupled with an all-new, seven-speed, single-clutch Sportshift II automated manual transmission allowing the driver to enjoy an increased level of control, modulating the throttle pedal to achieve the desired type of gear change.
In addition, the Vantage S includes a performance-enhancing ‘Sport’ button which quickens the gear changes and gives the driver a more aggressive throttle response while also opening the exhaust bypass valves across most of the rev range.
New springs/dampers and wider rear wheels team up with a new Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system, Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and bespoke tires to deliver superior handling and driving feel.
Moreover, engine and brake cooling is improved thanks to a larger front air intake, while various aerodynamic upgrades contribute to increased downforce at speed.
As for styling, a new lower front bumper finished in perfectly-aligned carbon fibre has been fitted to the V8 Vantage S. New 19-inch, V-spoke wheels come standard, while 10-spoke lightweight forged alloy wheels are optional.
The cockpit features power-adjustable leather seats with memory, automatic climate control, anti-theft alarm and many other premium amenities found in luxury sports cars.
