I really liked the Fiesta’s agility. It’s dynamic and fun to drive. Lively and nimble, it nips in and out of traffic with ease. Its smaller turning circle diameter nearly allows it to turn on a dime. Its handling is also smile-inducing. And its height isn’t an issue, as the overhangs have been shortened and its wheels pushed out to the edges. The MacPherson suspension is very well calibrated and makes for an even better ride.
Ford particularly emphasizes power-assist systems to ensure safety. The electric power steering is super smooth but still gets a hand from Active Nibble Cancellation, which controls steering wheel vibrations. Advance Trac keeps the car on course, limiting distractions. What’s more, according to studies conducted by the automaker, this driving aid helps reduce the number of accidents by 35%. The brakes are also very positive and inspire confidence. As does the takeoff assist system that will reassure manual transmission neophytes, preventing as it does the car from rolling backwards on an incline!
Hangover-free
This Fiesta won’t leave you with a raging hangover the next morning, but rather sweet memories of your time spent in its company. It will definitely conquer many festive young – and not-so-young – hearts. And although its sales price in its SES incarnation is a little tougher to swallow at $20,249, at least you know that good times will be a-rolling!
