Drop the kids, dogs and groceries off and take the Ford Flex on a road trip to the country and I guarantee you'll also be surprised by the handling. Again, this box is more graceful than I ever expected. Sure, it feels top-heavy at times, but in general the Ford Flex handles the twisties with finesse. I have to give some credit to Ford's AWD system in this scenario as I'm sure it helped for stability and handling. And really, with our winters, why wouldn't you want an AWD vehicle in your possession?
Big vehicle means big price?
Now, down to the important part. If you're in the market for a vehicle like the Ford Flex, it's generally because you've got the need for cargo space, and seating which generally means a large family to cart around. And large families, generally, mean smaller budgets. So, how is the Ford Flex in that department? Well, it all depends.
If all you want is a spacious people carrier with the bare necessities (and a non-EcoBoost 3.5L V6), the Ford Flex starts at a reasonable $28,499. However, should you be in the anti-mom-mobile mindset (like yours truly), the Ford Flex EcoBoost Titanium model will set you back a few more clams, starting at $46,649.
If you can swing the larger price tag, I'd say go for it. However, if budget is your main concern, the base Ford Flex is just as practical as the fancy Titanium edition and is sure to meet your family's needs from drivers to tiny passengers.
