Lincoln MKX's mid-cycle refreshening is meaty and meaningful
The new interior features lots of new materials, lots of leather with contrasting stitching, and a new standard remote start system.

Bannon said the interior is also quieter by several degrees, due to increased sound insulation, a thicker windshield, and drivetrain refinements.

The powertrain is upgraded by the adoption of the latest-version of the 3.7-litre Duratec V6, now with Ti-VCT, which is able to continuously adjust both the intake and exhaust valves. Horsepower is up by 15 percent, to 305, and torque is up 12 percent, to 280 lb-ft, with apparently no expense to fuel economy. Helping to make that happen is a new system that cuts off fuel when the vehicle is decelerating, and another new “smart charging” system that only engages the alternator when the vehicle is decelerating or braking.

Suspension and braking are also upgraded.

The revision also brings new safety systems to the MKX fold, such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support; Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Alert; MyKey; Capless Fuel-Filler; Hill Start Assist; and Trailer Sway Control.
