In Canada, Scion will also offer the personalization possibilities that they do in the US. The equipment list for Canadian-spec versions hasn’t yet been announced, but we’ll go out on a limb and assume that Canada and USA models will be more or less the same.

That means we expect standard air conditioning, cruise control, vanity mirrors, outside temperature display, keyless entry, power windows, cloth seats, a 60/40-split folding rear bench seat, a tilt steering column, a chrome exhaust tip, intermittent windshield wipers and rear window wiper, power mirrors with integrated turn signals, six airbags and electronic stability control.

The base sound system is a 160-watt Pioneer stereo with CD player, MP3 and WMA file playback, a USB port and iPod integration, six speakers and wheel-mounted controls.

From there, the fun begins, as you’ll be able to customize your xB to your heart’s (or wallet’s) desire. Spoiler kits, fog lamps, 16- and 17-inch alloys, carbon fibre trim, shift knobs, Bluetooth connectivity, Alpine sound and navigation systems, rear view camera, XM radio, an alarm system and rear-seat DVD players with wireless headphones, to name a few. We’re not sure all these will be available upon the Canadian launch, though.

And then there’s the TRD (Toyota Racing Development) performance parts catalogue. Lowering springs, a limited-slip differential, a sport muffler, a performance clutch kit, 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels, a strut tower brace, a rear sway bar, a cold air intake and many other bits and pieces can be added to the xB. Again, it all depends on how deep you’re willing to dig in your pocket.

Speaking of which, pricing has been yet been disclosed for Canada. And Toyota has a habit of trimming their cars differently for US and Canada, so the prices are hard to compare. But we like guessing, so we’ll project an MSRP of about $18,000 for a base 2011 xB.
